New Products from Gillette



I guess it was a matter of time before Gillette would come with a shampoo, body wash, shower gel etc.. I mean, after Procter & Gamble bought them, it couldn't be so hard to change the label on a Head & Shoulders or Pantene shampoo. Gillette and P&G always had a solid management and this new products just confirm it. However, I was surprised to find out how fast they adapt to new developments in marketing: blogging and social networking. I did not find about about their products from a TV advertising (which goes to show how much TV I watch). No, I found about these new products from someone at a PR agency who wanted me to promote these products on my blog. They actually were willing to send me some samples as long as I review the products. You can hate Gillette for what they did to the regular razor: transforming it into a ridiculously expensive 5, sorry 6, blade monstrosity, but these guys know how to run their business and make a buck (i.e. their last $1/week advertising campaign). Small wonder they developed into a multi-billion dollar company while DOVO-Merkur is still a medium-size business. However, if you have ever had the opportunity to work with Merkur you'll understand why they are still "medium size".
